HAAL Pop Up Starts Tomorrow

The "HAAL" pop-up event that I introduced in last week's journal is finally about to begin. From Friday, September 19th to Tuesday, September 23rd, the first collection from HAAL will be on display inside the keylime Tokyo store.

This is a special opportunity to experience the texture and presence of the leather firsthand at such a unique moment, right as the brand launches. HAAL's motto, "Skill is Soul," and their direct approach to working with leather are clearly reflected in the appearance of each item. When you understand the brand's background, you'll be able to appreciate the design of each piece on a deeper level.

Today's journal will introduce some of the specific items from HAAL's first collection—a collection that embodies the brand's philosophy—along with the brand's official descriptions.

Primitive Tote Bag-Deer

What lies at the core is creating a bag from a single piece of leather. We re-examined the very essence of this age-old practice to discover something new.



By folding and stitching a single, uncut piece of leather, we crafted a tote bag that preserves the inherent charm of the material, including its natural scratches and marks. An artisan works with each piece of leather, balancing and sewing it in a way that imbues it with a sense of life. The result is a unique beauty where no two pieces are exactly alike. This bag truly embodies HAAL's philosophy of "conveying the skill and soul of the artisan."
