A New Take on Kang Fu Pants

In today's Journal, I would like to introduce a new pair of pants from holk.

We have just received the latest iteration of the Kung Fu Pants, a long-beloved staple of the brand.



The Kung Fu Pants are one of holk's signature items, released each season in a variety of materials such as wool, cotton, and linen.

While keylime Tokyo has previously focused on selecting versions in wool for their elegant drape, this particular pair takes a distinctly different approach.

The material used this time is a high-density gabardine, composed of 62% cotton and 38% polyester.

Commonly referred to as "Burberry Cloth," this is the first time it has ever been used for the Kung Fu Pants.

While the previous wool versions were characterized by a supple drape that flowed beautifully with gravity, this Burberry Cloth possesses a distinct stiffness. This creates a more structured, three-dimensional silhouette that highlights the generous proportions of the Kung Fu Pants.

I would also like to share the intricate details of the fabric itself.

It features a grey warp and a brown weft.

By weaving high-density yarns—where a cotton core is wrapped in polyester—the fabric achieves a robust stiffness while maintaining a matte, understated texture.

One of its defining characteristics is the unique color expression; the hue shifts depending on the angle, giving it an iridescent, "solaro-like" quality.

Despite being iridescent, it isn't overly glossy, making it very wearable for everyday styling.
