Originally, double-knee was used to reinforce the knees of full-length trousers, and the fabric was partially doubled up to make shorts. It is thought to be just a playful idea with little practicality, but the increased thickness of the fabric creates a calculated balance with a beautifully spread hem. The linen poplin is ideal for this summer, which is lighter than ever, and can be set-up coordinated with a top made of the same fabric.
Buyer's note
Linen shorts are a summer companion. They are made of shirting linen (linen for shirts), but with double-layered knees, they are strong enough and have just the right volume. This season we have a lot of tops in the same fabric available to wear with any of our shirts. Which shirt should I wear with the set-up? It would be great if you could have that kind of fun.
