In today's Journal, I’d like to take a deeper look at the Band Collar Shirt from TOHNAI, which we recently announced as a new arrival and has now launched on our online store.

TOHNAI is a brand that consistently gives form to their deep curiosity about materials.

This Band Collar Shirt utilizes delicate white poplin from ALUMO, the renowned Swiss fabric house.

By densely weaving together 95-count warp yarns and 133-count weft yarns—threads even finer than those used in typical high-end shirts—they have achieved a silk-like suppleness and lightness.

The refined texture ensures that the piece drapes beautifully when worn, creating an elegant silhouette.

At the same time, the fabric has been pre-washed to give it a broken-in, wrinkled texture, creating a relaxed impression that doesn't feel overly formal.

The flap pockets on both sides of the chest and the straight hemline give it a moderately casual feel, making it look almost like a stand-collar jacket despite being a shirt.

The atmosphere changes when worn open as a light outer layer, and it’s a great point that it offers such versatility in styling.
